Elise said recently...

Whenever we are washing her hair, Elise says "Tell me when to open me eyes!"  It's so cute because she says "me eyes" instead of "my eyes."

Yesterday while walking with Elise at the park, she said, "Mommy, I like bees and flies!  I like when bees and flies crawl on me because I love bugs. Mommy? I LOVE flies!"  "Why Elise?" "Because they are BEAUTIFUL!"  Later she continued, "I like when bees and flies and ants crawl on me!" 

We never lack for humor around here!!

Late summer Carowinds fun!

We went to Carowinds a couple weeks ago and had a blast!  Isaac and Elise enjoyed riding the carousel, little train, and the helicopters.  They both tried Lucy's Crabby Cabby (a small roller coaster) and Isaac liked it but Elise didn't.   Isaac and Steven also rode the Woodstock Gliders, which is Isaac's favorite ride.

School's in Session!

Last Tuesday we officially started the 2013/2014 year of homeschool.  Over the next few days, the kids played together, we read together, we did fun science object lessons (like comparing a boiled egg to the earth and discovering the crust, mantle, and core) and played some more.  During their free play, the kids built train tracks that filled our living room and went under bridges (pillows) and over mountains (the couch).  The kids and I are enjoying this adventure!  Here are some pictures I caught last week:
