Beach Trip 2012

During the first week of July, our family took our annual beach trip to Ocean Isle Beach, NC.  We had a great week, spending lots of time on the beach, playing together, eating yummy food, and trying to relax as much as possible.  Here is a photo journal of our trip...

On the beach... Elise and Isaac both loved spending our days on the beach.  They loved digging in the sand, running around on the beach, and playing in the water.

Elise enjoyed laying down in the little pools of water and "sleeping"...

But she didn't sleep for long!

Digging a really big hole!  Steven and Isaac did this almost each day.

But it was tiring, so one of those days, they just took a nap on the beach...

And Elise fell asleep on the couch (this NEVER happens at home!)

Isaac and Elise slept in the same bed for the first time ever.  The first night, they tried it, but Elise ended up in her pack-n-play.  But every night after that, she asked to sleep with Isaac.  They didn't take naps during the day, so they were so tired at night that they went to sleep really well and stayed asleep all night (till 6:30 or 7:00 in the morning!)

The kids also loved the pool.  They wanted to spend as much time there as on the beach!  Isaac gained more confidence for jumping in the pool in the 5 ft section, and Elise spent lots of time going under the water, staying a while and then coming up for air.  By the end of the week, Elise was even swimming a little bit while under the water.  Both our kids are definitely little fish!

A gift from above...

I haven't blogged in over a month, but I have a super really good reason. :)  I am pregnant with Baby #3!  Can you believe it?!   We are very excited and will welcome our newest family member in February 2013!

I am about 12 weeks along, and it has been a LOOOONNNGG 12 weeks!  I have been sicker than with Isaac or Elise and have been extremely exhausted, too.  But Steven, my parents, and our babysitters have been awesome to help give me breaks to nap and rest.  I am hoping that the sickness will subside in the next week or so, like it did with Isaac and Elise.  Other than that, I did have a little scare around the 6-7 week point and felt that I might be miscarrying.  Thanks be to God, that didn't happen, and we were able to see the baby and his/her heartbeat on an ultrasound about 3 weeks ago.  We are grateful that this sweet blessing is healthy and growing well!

Prayers would be much appreciated for our little Valentine from the Lord!
