Quotes from the babes...
Elise: I'na watch Duh Tipple Lan [The Crippled Lamb - a Christmas movie]
Later... "I don't like Duh Tipple Lan Mommy!" (because of a mildly scary part with a lion.)
Elise: Mommy, where is Nana's Buddy [dog]?
Me: He's in heaven.
Elise: I sorry Mommy, I sorry!
During dinner one night recently, Isaac asked me for some hot chocolate (which he's had the past few nights). I replied, "No Isaac, you can't have hot chocolate every day". Isaac responded with, "Well how about every night?"
Steven and I were talking and Isaac said, "Excuse me Mommy, did you hear what I said?" I said, "No, I didn't Isaac. What did you say?" He replied, "It's a long story!"
Getting out of the van in the library parking lot last week...
Isaac: Mommy, can you hold me?
Me: No, I can't hold you. You are four years old and a big boy so I can't carry you into the library.
Isaac: Why can't you hold me?
Me: Buddy, like I said, because you are too big and I can't carry anything too big.
Isaac: Well, your purse is big.
...Touche, little man. ♥
At our weekly lunch with Steven, we were talking about visting some friends with two small kids. Isaac said, "Are they twins?" I asked Isaac if he knew what twins were. He replied, "Yes, they're match.. match people."
Isaac and Elise were singing one of Steven's songs in the van, and Isaac started yelling the words. I told him not to yell, and he responded, "But I'm praising Jesus!" I said that was great, but that he needed to turn the volume down a bit. He promptly said, "But He won't be able to hear me!"
When I got Elise up from nap, she said, "I need to see my boy!" I asked who her boy was, and she said, "Isaac!"
Isaac is usually grumpy when he is awakened early from his nap. When describing his behavior to others, we sometimes say that he "woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Tonight at dinner, Isaac moaned and said, "I woke up the wrong... the wrong... way."
