Halloween 2011

Our street is a happenin' place on Halloween night. There are already so many kids and then kids from other streets and neighborhoods join the fun! Even though we aren't big Halloween fans, we love getting outside and seeing all the kids, handing out candy and having fun with our neighbors.

Isaac hasn't ever really enjoyed dressing up, so we didn't anticipate that he would this year. We were wrong! He decided he wanted to be a football player, so he wore a jersey and helmet that had been handed down to us. We'd also been given a Beauty and the Beast "Belle" dress, which Elise wore. It took some prep work (trying it on and praising her for how pretty she looked, even though she said, "I don't like it!) but she wore it and even seemed to enjoy it throughout the night. After trick-or-treating at several homes on our street, we headed to my parents' nearby neighborhood. The kids had a great time. Unfortunately too much of a great time - Isaac left my parents' house crying and kept it up until he fell asleep! Overall, though, it was a wonderful family night.
